READING
INTERVENTION PROGRAM

Our Reading Intervention Program is grounded in the Science of Reading and follows an Orton–Gillingham approach to provide systematic, research-based instruction tailored to each child’s needs. Using DIBELS screening assessments, we identify the specific type of support students require and offer a combination of in-class and pull-out services.

Students who need targeted intervention meet with the reading interventionist three times a week for 30-minute sessions focused on foundational skills such as phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, while in-class support is provided through push-in work sessions and collaboration with teachers to strengthen overall literacy instruction. Through this comprehensive approach, we ensure that all students receive the guidance they need to develop into confident, successful readers.

At its core, a reading intervention is a specialized approach to boost the reading skills of students who may be falling behind. Unlike regular classroom instruction, it focuses on individual needs, addressing specific areas like phonics, fluency, and vocabulary.

Through tailored lessons and one-on-one or small group sessions, reading interventions provide students with the extra support they need to become confident, proficient readers. By identifying each student’s unique challenges and strengths, these interventions offer personalized learning paths, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Whether it’s through engaging activities or hands-on learning, our Reading Intervention Program is all about making reading accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
